with permission from A Birder’s Guide to Washington, by Hal Opperman.
This book, published in 2003 by the American Birding Association, is one
volume of the ABA’s Birdfinding Guide Series. It was “originally conceived
as an updating of A Guide to Bird Finding in Washington, by Terence
R. Wahl and Dennis R. Paulson” but by the year 2000 “the realization dawned
that we [author and publisher] were embarked not on a makeover but on an
essentially new book.”
If you plan to do much birding in Washington, then you will want to have

will need a decompression utility to make them available to you. Stuffit by
Adobe is one such tool. Mac users will probably want to download the sitx
file, while Windows users will probably download the zip file. (Once
decompressed, the 2.1 Mb file is called SpokaneGuide2.rtf. It was created
using Microsoft Word.)
